Tatou Armor's IIIA/HG2 soft armor plates are both light and made of top quality materials. The achieve the perfect balance of weight to performance, at 0.99lbs and .25" of thickness. It is tested to stop 9mm 124grain at 1470ft/s (448m/s) and .44mag 240 grain at 1430ft/s (436m/s). This allows it to be categorized at NIJ STD-0101.06 Level IIIA and NIJ STD-0101.07 (Draft) HG2. 

This thin and light pistol rated plate is made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) and Para-Aramid Hybrid material.  Buoyant, multi-shot rated. Water resistant cover. 

Tatou Armors IIIA soft armor has 10% less weight and has 15% less back face deformation than other commercially available soft armor systems. Tatou Armor IIIA soft panels achieves protection against high performance hand guns such as the .44 Magnum, .357 Sig, and the .9 mm using less material. Tatou's hybrid fibers mix absorb the energy of the bullet along the molecules of each fiber, catching it in a multi-layer web of advanced fabric. The material absorbs and disperses the energy of the impact to underlying layers in the insert that help reduce the amount of transferred energy that causes the back-face deformation which can cause blunt trauma. The final inner layers of material are able to disperse the energy and helps diminish any trauma.
