A hybrid architecture.
DuPont Kevlar® aramid and UHMWPE are two material families used in ballistic protection. The declared construction of these panels is hybrid, rather than a single-fiber system.
⁴ Kevlar® identification supplied by Tatou Armor; exact composition to be confirmed in the documentation for the delivered model. Kevlar® and DuPont™ are trademarks of their respective owners.
Performance.
Precisely defined.
NIJ 0101.06 Level IIIA addresses defined handgun threats. Additional performance declared in the technical sheet is presented separately.

Technical-sheet declarations; request test reports for the selected configuration. These do not constitute additional NIJ certifications. V50 is a statistical ballistic limit, not a guaranteed non-penetration velocity. The 5.7 × 28 mm statement applies only to the specified 27 gr SS195 LFHP projectile.
Level IIIA does not cover rifle threats. No knife or spike resistance is claimed for this configuration.
The right protection.
In the right format.
From the QRS program to an agency replacement requirement, the cut must match both the carrier and the wearer. Your configuration is confirmed in the quotation.
Integration with the Tatou Armor system.
Panels offered in a QRS-specific cut to build a configuration matched to your carrier. Specify the model, size and required coverage zones in your request.
Explore the QRS ↗C1–C5 template range.
C1–C5 are NIJ sizing-template designations. They do not represent five protection levels.
- Front and rear panels
- Fit to be confirmed against the carrier
- Dimensions and weight confirmed in the quote
- QRS cut: configuration compliance to be documented
Templates are not a clothing-size chart. Each panel’s dimensions and area must remain within the scope of the certified model.
A Canadian point of contact.
A basis for your decision.
Law enforcement
Individual equipment, fleet renewal and specialist unit requirements. Define your agency’s quantities and threat profile.
Military units
Soft panels and QRS integration according to unit requirements. Specify fragmentation requirements and applicable protocols in the RFQ.
Institutional purchasing
Ballistic model, NIJ reference, supporting documentation and warranty terms available to qualified buyers to assess the offer.
NIJ certification applies to the identified ballistic model, not the distributor or the carrier. The exact reference and the delivered configuration’s correspondence are provided in the compliance documentation.

Before you
equip your team.
Is this NIJ certification or only testing?
The reference ballistic model is NIJ 0101.06 Level IIIA certified and appears on the compliant products list. The exact reference and documentation are provided to qualified buyers. Any modified cut or configuration must be checked against the certification’s scope.
Are QRS panels automatically covered?
A model’s presence on the NIJ list does not automatically certify every cut. The offer must confirm construction, dimensions, labeling and correspondence of the QRS panels to the certified model.
Is the weight identical across sizes?
No. The 1 lb 10 oz, approximately 737 g per panel, value is the reference supplied for the panels shown. Weight depends on area and cut. The technical sheet lists 2.0 kg for a pair in size L. The quotation specifies the selected configuration.
What does the eight-year warranty cover?
An eight-year ballistic warranty is specified for this program. Written terms, start date, exclusions and care instructions are to be confirmed in the quotation. This period does not guarantee absence of injury or represent an NIJ-certified service life.
Does Level IIIA cover rifle threats?
Level IIIA addresses defined handgun threats. Rifle protection requires a separate solution and, where relevant, a plate/panel combination documented for that purpose.
Can we request documentation for a tender?
Yes. Include your agency, a professional email address, tender reference and technical requirements in the RFQ. Applicable compliance documents can be shared with qualified buyers.
