High-Temperature
Spare Barrel Bag
A Canadian-made thermal containment solution engineered for the temporary handling and transport of hot, removable weapon barrels. Its multilayer construction combines high-purity woven silica barriers with a 1/4-inch fiberglass insulation core.
Engineered for extreme residual heat
Designed for situations where a hot barrel must be removed from service and contained before it has fully cooled. The system is intended to slow heat transfer, protect surrounding equipment and provide an organized method of temporarily managing a high-temperature component.
Thermal barrier
Woven 18 oz silica fabric is used on both sides of the insulating core, creating a durable high-temperature envelope.
Insulating core
A 1/4-inch fiberglass mat delays conductive heat transfer and provides the principal insulating layer within the assembly.
Perimeter construction
The thermal assembly is secured around its perimeter using specialized high-temperature fiberglass thread.
Field-oriented design
A straightforward layered construction developed for military, institutional and professional field-evaluation programs.
Three-layer thermal assembly
Comparative temperature zones
The chart separates the intended temporary-use design zone from the published temperature capabilities of the unassembled silica textile.
Thermal reference scale
Temperature shown in degrees Celsius
The 982°C continuous rating and 1,650°C short-term exposure rating apply to the woven silica material itself. They do not constitute a certification of the complete assembled bag. Final-system performance depends on exposure duration, contact area, barrel geometry, thermal cycling, stitching and environmental conditions.
Built for professional evaluation
Developed as a practical thermal-management component for professional users working with removable hot-barrel weapon systems.
Intended applications
- Temporary containment of a removed hot barrel
- Military and law-enforcement field evaluations
- Range operations and weapon-system training
- Organization of hot components during cooling
- Institutional testing and procurement trials
Technical advantages
- High-purity silica heat-facing surfaces
- Insulating 1/4-inch fiberglass thermal core
- No rigid internal thermal shield
- Flexible construction for operational handling
- Technical material documentation available on request
Designed and made in Canada
Manufactured in Canada using specialized high-temperature materials sourced through Canadian industry. This product supports domestic technical manufacturing while providing government and institutional clients with access to material documentation, product-development support and application-specific evaluation.
