NORTENT Vern 1 3S    pre order exp mid june

The lightweight 3-season evolution of the legendary Vern 1. Built for fast mountain movement, solo expedition travel and users who want serious protection in a compact 1.67 kg minimum-weight shelter.

3 Seasons 1.5 Person Capacity 1.67 kg Min Weight 1.89 kg Max Weight HH 3000 mm Flysheet DAC NFL Poles

Legendary Vern stability, reduced to a fast 3-season package

The NORTENT Vern 1 3S is designed for spring, summer and autumn movement where low pack weight, strong wind behavior, generous interior space and fast shelter deployment matter. It keeps the aerodynamic Vern profile while using optimized 3-season fabrics to reduce carried weight by approximately one kilogram compared with the heavier 4-season Vern concept.

Strong and light

Built around a 1.67 kg minimum weight, the Vern 1 3S gives solo users a strong shelter profile without forcing them into a heavy expedition loadout.

Mountain-ready design

The aerodynamic silhouette, reinforced pole attachment zones and low-profile geometry help maintain stability in exposed terrain and changing mountain weather.

Comfortable solo space

With a 1.5-person capacity and generous interior geometry, the Vern 1 3S gives extra room for sleeping, clothing, compact gear and organized field use.

Protection, ventilation and practical field comfort

The Vern 1 3S was developed to provide dependable shelter during 3-season conditions without excess material weight. It uses a waterproof ultralight silnylon 66 flysheet, a breathable inner tent and a ventilation system designed to manage condensation during wet or cool nights.

Three-valve ventilation system Two low-positioned vents bring fresh air into the shelter, while a larger upper vent above the entrance helps expel warm, moist air.
Spacious vestibule Practical protected space for backpack, boots, rain gear and cooking setup when weather conditions turn poor.
Hybrid inner door The door combines mosquito netting and regular nylon to balance airflow, insect protection and draft management.
Open-side flexibility Open the side of the tent for airflow and visibility in calm weather, or close it down for stronger protection.

Ultralight fabric with reinforced stress management

To reduce weight while keeping the Vern reputation for strength, Nortent uses a lighter 15D silnylon flysheet combined with high-tenacity reinforcement fabric at critical pole clip attachment points. These reinforced areas help distribute wind load across a wider surface instead of concentrating stress on a single point.

15D waterproof flysheet

Ripstop silnylon 15D with a 3000 mm hydrostatic head rating gives the Vern 1 3S a low-weight, waterproof outer shell for 3-season travel.

5000 mm floor

The 40D nylon floor is rated to 5000 mm HH, giving the sleeping area reliable protection against wet ground.

Double-pole capable

The clip-based pole system allows double poling when additional stability is required for exposed routes, stronger winds or shoulder-season conditions.

Recommended applications

A premium solo-plus shelter for Canadian buyers who need lightweight performance without giving up weather protection, practical space or robust field reliability.

Fast trekking

Spring, summer and autumn routes where lower pack weight matters.

Mountain travel

Exposed plateaus, ridgelines, alpine approaches and wet forest environments.

Solo-plus camping

More room than a tight 1-person tent for sleeping comfort and personal equipment.

Professional field use

Suitable for outfitters, guides, survey teams and agency users needing compact shelter support.

Vern 1 3S positioning

The Vern 1 3S is best understood as a lighter, faster 3-season shelter with more interior comfort than a minimalist solo tent, while retaining the strong Vern design language.

Choose Vern 1 3S when

You want a lightweight 3-season tent with added interior room, strong ventilation, a practical vestibule and a reinforced structure for exposed terrain.

Choose Vern 1 4-season when

You need the heavier-duty Vern configuration for winter, severe weather, snow load, or harsher all-season expedition conditions.
