This modular Special Operations Vest offers a versatile combination of Soft Body Armor panels for the front and back along with the capability to insert Hard Rifle Plates for maximum defense while maintaining a streamlined profile.

COMES WITH ARMOR:

• Level of Protection: NIJ.06 IIIA (stops multiple rounds of .44 Magnum)

UP ARMOR :

• Optional Level 4 – Up Armor : This vest can accommodate front and back 10×12″ hard armor plates, which can provide additional protection against high-velocity rifle rounds.

SIDE ARMOR :

• Optional Side Armor: Left and Right side cummerbund side insert pockets for 6×6 or 6×8 size armor.

However, the vest’s versatility reaches beyond handgun protection. In addition to its exceptional defensive capabilities against handguns, it is also engineered to accommodate front and back 10×12″ hard armor plates. This essential feature becomes particularly valuable for law enforcement officers and security personnel operating in environments where high-velocity rifle rounds pose a significant threat.

Tatou Armor's IIIA/HG2 soft armor plates are both light and made of top quality materials. The achieve the perfect balance of weight to performance, at 0.99lbs and .25" of thickness. It is tested to stop 9mm 124grain at 1470ft/s (448m/s) and .44mag 240 grain at 1430ft/s (436m/s). This allows it to be categorized at NIJ STD-0101.06 Level IIIA and NIJ STD-0101.07 (Draft) HG2. 

This thin and light pistol rated plate is made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) and Para-Aramid Hybrid material.  Buoyant, multi-shot rated. Water resistant cover. 

Tatou Armors IIIA soft armor has 10% less weight and has 15% less back face deformation than other commercially available soft armor systems. This directly translates into less blunt force trauma to vest wearers. While 10% might not sound like much, we know that when you have all the extra gear to wear you are grateful for a lighter vest.

Tatou Armor IIIA soft panels achieves protection against high performance hand guns such as the .44 Magnum, .357 Sig, and the .9 mm using less material. Tatou's hybrid fibers mix absorb the energy of the bullet along the molecules of each fiber, catching it in a multi-layer web of advanced fabric. The material absorbs and disperses the energy of the impact to underlying layers in the insert that help reduce the amount of transferred energy that causes the back-face deformation which can cause blunt trauma. The final inner layers of material are able to disperse the energy and helps diminish any trauma.
